High Tea at the Villa – Relax and Enjoy overlooking the Lake and the City of Kelowna

Christmas Special

We want to make sure that everyone visiting Kelowna has the absolute most memorable stay while in the area!    Here’s a link to the printer-friendly version of what is happening in the area as provided by the terrific folks at Tourism Kelowna!   Enjoy your time in the sunny Okanagan!   April 1 – 8/16 Happenings

Did you know how to get into a VIP airport lounge when you are travelling?    Hopefully you are enroute to Kelowna, in beautiful B.C.!   Wherever your travels may take you, being able to enjoy them just adds another memorable dimension to your trip, especially if traveling as a couple on a romantic getaway or honeymoon.

There are several ways to access them, if you don’t have a plan that includes the “pass” with your credit card.
You’ll enjoy the peace and quiet and much cleaner facilities.    Most have nice snacks (fruit, yogurt, wraps, veggies) and many have wraps and even hot items to choose from.    A wide array of beverages are also available (some lounges place a limit on the number of alcoholic drinks for obvious reasons).    Wi-fi is available and Internet hook-ups, charging stations and so forth.    Comfy seating in the lounging area where the TV’s are and most have amazing views of the planes as they arrive and depart.   I love them and use them all the time

The traditional definition of ‘elope’ refers to a sudden and secretive marriage, usually to avoid parental objections. Today’s elopements are often exciting, planned alternatives to traditional weddings — and parents, close friends, and family may even be invited.

Reasons People Elope

Parental objection to their child’s choice of spouse is no longer the only reason couples elope. There are many benefits that make it an attractive option for modern couples. Advantages over having a traditional wedding include:

Saving Money:
This is one of the most popular reasons for eloping. Feeling pressured into having the ‘perfect’ or most ‘unique’ wedding, many newlyweds find themselves buried in debt. Rather than spend thousands of dollars they may or may not have, couples may choose to forego a lavish wedding and reception in favor of eloping.
Statistics indicate that an average wedding costs approximately $20,000, and that does not include the honeymoon! Eloping is so much less stressful and a bargain, when you consider the cost of a conventional wedding. An elopement package can cost about $1,000 and for less than $5,000 a couple can get married and have a one week honeymoon in Kelowna.
Fun, Excitement, and Romance: The thrill of having a destination wedding or taking off with your fiancée is what lures some away from traditional weddings. The sense of spontaneity and adventure that accompanies an elopement can be very appealing.

Avoiding Stress of Wedding Planning:
Even a planned elopement that includes family and friends does not take the time and attention to detail of planning that a traditional wedding ceremony and reception can.

Privacy and Intimacy:
For some, the wonderful experience of getting married is best celebrated through a private and intimate getaway. This allows the couple to really focus on one another and the special joy of their marriage.

Is Eloping Right For Me?

Savvy, independent couples elope to do something different, to create the wedding they want without any compromises. Today’s elopements are no longer taboo affairs, they are happy surprises. Eloping is the wedding day as it was before the advent of Bridezilla, the 250 person guest list, and the bar bill. A wedding is a day, but a marriage is forever.
And while elopements have traditionally been an exclusive affair, they don’t have to be. Just because you elope does not mean that family members or friends can’t be with you. You can still have your father walk you down the aisle or your best friend witness your ceremony. The best part of eloping is that there are no rules!

What determines a great romantic getaway? Spectacular views? Luxurious accommodations? Fine dining? Intimate spaces? How about all of these and more? Well, that’s what we discovered at this unique sanctuary in the heart of BC’s sunny Okanagan.

From its lofty plateau perch in prestigious Golfview Estates, A Vista Villa undeniably lives up to its name by offering a sweeping view of the growing community of Kelowna, where it snuggles up to Lake Okanagan and sprawls over the scenic rolling hill backdrop. A rock-lined pathway, flanked by manicured perennials, directs our way to a shimmering outdoor pool where the same breathtaking vista is shared. Lights twinkle below, during our dusk-time arrival, to remind us that the city’s busy hub is just a short drive away, yet from our pristine podium, the night is still and serene, and we feel blissfully freed from any hustle and bustle.

Sherry Cote, owner and creator of this heavenly haven, greets us with her welcoming smile, and congenial charm. Her effervescence for life is exuded instantaneously and it comes as no surprise to find out that this retreat for romantics has become a raving success. Instead of the standard bed and breakfast, Sherry goes all out by including optional 4-course dinners and VIP Okanagan Sightseeing & Wine Tours.
“I want to Wow my guests at every turn,” Sherry proclaims. “After all, you have to give, in order to receive.” And during our two-day stay, we discover that Sherry is true to her word!

Fragrant clematis and flowering wisteria drape the poolside gazebo and, while boasting abundant foliage, they provide a discreet form of privacy that couples come here to find. Gliding love seats and intimate groupings gather around patio tables next to the glistening oasis. Splayed out lounges invite luxury-loving guests to return when the sunny Okanagan rays will provide a warm embrace. And when the sun slips below the horizon, an alluring gas heater warms dampened towels and complements star-studded skies.
Continued promises of relaxation are imbibed from the moment we step into the Villa’s luxurious interiors. The light drenched décor, boasting soft emerald hues is deliciously inspired by the region’s abundance of fresh fruit. Candle lit sconces emit a soft glow to infuse the perfect ambience, and a flickering fire warms overstuffed couches where we later share a video flick. Guests have free reign over the full kitchen facilities, whether it’s to chill their bottle of bubbly or create a midnight snack.

Although we arrive long after the dinner hour when Sherry performs her mealtime magic, waiting in the fridge is a platter of delectables that includes strawberries hand-dipped in Bernard Callebaut’s chocolate, and bubbly wine from Summerhill’s nearby vineyard. Pure decadence? You bet!
As well as attentive service, Sherry displays her mastery in design throughout. Her four divinely appointed havens tug at heartstrings and inspire intimacy in even the most jaded romantic. While the three ground level abodes pay homage to the neighboring orchards by bearing signature fruit titles, the upper Regal suite treats its king and queen occupants to a true taste of royalty. Although each is swathed with its exclusive colour scheme, they all share elegant commonalties like jetted tubs, goose down duvets, and hidden bar fridges where the morning’s breakfast goodies are housed.

Our Royal suite, cloaked in royal and olive signature hues, has been designed with honeymooners in mind, and although I’m certainly no blushing bride, we soon discover compelling reasons to remain behind its closed doors. As well as lounging in the double jetted tub, we revel in the deluxe two-headed shower, laze around in monogrammed terry robes, and snuggle soundly in the comfy king bed. Flickering candles set the ambience, foaming bath oils sensuously soothe, and the sophisticated décor artfully portrays attention to detail.

A Vista Villa – Home of Honeymooners, Elopers and Lovers.
by Habeeb Salloum
A Vista Villa – a villa set in a panoramic landscape, is an honest description of a home built for lovers. When I stood on the terrace and looked over the landscape before me there was no doubt in my mind that it was a vista villa in all its splendour.

Set in B.C.’s beautiful Okanagan Valley on the edge of Kelowna, the largest city in the Valley, it is a place where honeymooners, elopers, couples and those wanting to renew their vows, come to enjoy a few days of relaxation, leisure and pleasure at this small delightful lover’s nest. Designed as a private “Boutique Inn”, it oozes an aura of invitation for couples to travel here and forget the world.
As couples enter the establishment and walk down the bridal aisle, they begin their journey of love in the magnificent landscape of the Okanagan

Valley, Canada’s summer wonderland. Called by some ‘the Western Garden of Eden’ and by others ‘the Florida of the north’ and “the Hawaii of Canda”, it is Canada’s land of orchards, sunshine and relaxed tourists.
